Lauren was born and raised in Franklin, NE. Working in the service industry since the age of 14, Lauren served and cooked at the local Frosty Mug Drive Inn and was a cook at the Franklin Nursing Center for several years throughout high school and college.
At each establishment Lauren loved conversing with customers and socialization. After flunking out of college a couple of times due to an intense need to have a “little fun”, she earned a degree from Southeast Community College in Food Service with a dietetics emphasis and the addition of an adorable daughter, Teagan. Working in the industry proved to be difficult for a young single mother, so Lauren made the decision to return to college at UNK and earned her degree in elementary education with the support of her family. During which time she met (on a blind date) her husband Michael, a Nebraska State Trooper. They moved to Hastings. Married for 20 years, Michael and Lauren have raised 3 children, Teagan of Kearney (husband Will), Isaac a student at CCC, and Carter currently a Freshman at Adams Central.
During her tenure as a teacher, Lauren earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction through Doane College. Once her children were through their young years, her running marathons phase over, and continuing college education was on the back burner, Lauren yearned to go back and dabble in the service industry once again
